About
Since I can remember, I've always danced to the beat of my own drum. Naturally, I've also always loved to dance, and I mean ALWAYS! Like the wind, I've never quite fit in completely anywhere while simultaneously filling any space I'm in. I've had "good jobs" but was never really satisfied. Most recently I decided to quit my job as a firefighter in 2025. I realized it was not my passion and didn't want to spend one more second doing anything in my life that I wasn't passionate about. Dance is one of those things. I've been teaching different forms of dance for nearly 20 years now and love it just as much as I did when I was a little girl, if not more! I love dance because of the freedom, connection and bliss is creates on an individual and community level. This is why I created Step It Up Austin.
Mission
To help cultivate lasting connection, community and wonderful memories through dance. Step It Up Austin strives to help create unique fun-filled events that people will actually enjoy and remember forever!
Vision
Creating lasting moments and memories one party, one event, one class, one space and one step at a time! Using dance as a vehicle to help connect each person back to their inner child and their community (every "other person" simple reflections & extensions of oneself). When we do, naturally, we quickly find that the inner child and the village lives simultaneously in each and every one of us... and connects through us. Next to silence, dance and rhythm have always been the heartbeat of the embodied spirit. Let us take time to honor and connect back to that...WHILE having a good time doing it!
